An increasing number of youth are exploring their gender identity and expression in ways that may challenge common assumptions about pronouns and identity terms. For professionals and resource parents serving system-involved youth, uncertainty about how to refer to someone’s body, appearance, or pronouns can unintentionally cause harm. This training equips participants with the knowledge and skills to use gender-inclusive language with greater ease, effectiveness, and confidence, while also knowing how to respond if a mistake is made. By the end of the session, participants will be better prepared to foster respect, trust, and safety for all youth.
