This training explores the use of the social and emotional learning framework to support youth in care to develop self-awareness, self-management and interpersonal skills. Participants will gain insights into how these skills help youth in care build resilience and establish healthier relationships. We will introduce creative arts-based strategies for enhancing well-being. Through discussion, reflection and hands-on activities, participants will learn how SEL principles can be integrated into everyday practices to support physical and emotional regulation. We will provide practical methods to calm the mind and body, with a focus on the role of creativity in physical and emotional regulation. Participants will be guided through creative exercises that can be used to build inner strength, manage difficult emotions and foster a compassionate mindset in youth. Learn how these activities can create safe personal growth and connection spaces to improve outcomes for youth in care.
