This training session will provide an in-depth examination of domestic violence as it specifically affects the foster youth population. Research consistently shows that youth in out-of-home care, such as those in foster homes or residential facilities, are at a significantly higher risk of experiencing domestic violence and intimate partner violence (DV/IPV) compared to their peers. Factors contributing to this vulnerability may include past trauma, instability in living situations, and a lack of appropriate support systems.
