Suicide is the second leading cause of death for youth aged 15-24. It’s crucial for social service providers to learn how to assess suicide, assess suicide, know what to do if a youth endorses suicidal ideation, and how to foster protective factors. This training will provide participants with overall knowledge about the prevalence of suicide and groups at heightened risk for suicide. Participants will learn how to assess suicide and be able to practice assessing suicidal ideation with each other. The training will also cover suicide contagion and safety planning with someone who is suicidal.
