Given that alcohol and substance consumption is prevalent amongst adults and youth, it’s important for social service providers to understand the potential harms associated with misuse. This can impact relationships, learning environments, performance at work and prenatal development. This training provides an overview of substance misuse amongst youth and adults and strategies to consume responsibly. Additionally, the training will discuss adverse effects on youth in utero/development which includes discussions about what they are, risk factors, screening and how to support someone with developmental issues associated with parental misuse.
