For youth who have experienced attachment trauma, this trauma can be stored in the non-language part of the brain and create irrational unconscious beliefs/cognitions about oneself and impact the ability to trust others, including service providers. These beliefs can impact family life, academic professional goals, friendships, and even the connection with youth care workers. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) gently supports the client’s nervous system to digest disturbing memories that create unconscious negative cognitions in effective ways that traditional talking support techniques are often not able to. This class will also be a review for the previous two trainings.
