Participants will get an overview of neurodiversity and neurodivergence, as well as a comprehensive understanding of sensory, communication, information processing and learning differences in youth with a variety of neurodevelopmental attributes. Participants will be able to rethink troublesome actions and implement support strategies tailored to the unique needs of neurodivergent youth in care. In addition, by using an affirming lens, person-centered and compassionate approaches, participants will be able to model and facilitate self-advocacy language, as well as nurturing more positive learning experiences. This training will incorporate videos, interactive discussions and downloadable resources to share with peers supports.
