What is power? How do we use it? How are we impacted by it? This workshop supports participants to understand and reshape the dynamics of power within their communities and organizations. Focusing on power’s dual nature, as both a tool for liberation and a mechanism of oppression, participants will learn to distinguish between liberatory and supremacist uses of power, gaining insight into how power dynamics shape our everyday interactions and broader societal structures. Moving from awareness to action, participants will identify practical antidotes to supremacist power, practices designed to engage power in liberatory ways and foster inclusivity, equity, and shared decision-making in their work with systems-involved children, families, and communities. By the end of this workshop, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of power dynamics and practical strategies to promote a culture of shared power and collective liberation.
