System-involved young adults experience many challenges as a result the trauma and adversity they have experienced. Some transitional age youth are labeled as having a personality disorder early on in their life. Therefore, it’s crucial for social service providers to have an accurate understanding of personality disorders in order to support them in the most effective manner. This course will provide an overview of personality disorders with a focus on borderline personality disorders. Participants will also learn strategies to support individuals with borderline personality disorder.
