Foster Care Training

Some parents of system-involved youth have struggled or are struggling with substance use. It’s important for providers, foster parents, and natural supports to understand the impact parental substance use has on youth’s development. This training will provide an overview of how parental substance use impacts youth’s physical development, social development, academic development, and emotional development. Providers, foster parents, and natural supports will learn strategies for how to support system-involved youth when parental substance use is prevalent.
