Foster Care Training

There are often experiences of loss and secondary trauma for service providers, caregivers, and others who work with foster youth can at times impact quality care that is offered when there are visceral responses that are being reflected back to youth. This training looks at how vicarious and secondary trauma may impact caregivers, providers, and other professionals. The is opportunity to explore the trauma that exists at the systems level, and how these dynamics influence and are influenced by the direct dynamics within families and teams. Participants learn strategies to mitigate the effects of secondary trauma and strategies of sustainability for those who work long term with foster care.
