Foster Care Training

Caregivers will learn about the underlying causes of misbehavior and have a better understanding of their child’s level of functioning and needs. Caregivers will learn effective strategies that foster healthy attachment and brain development in their children. This is a four week psychoeducation workshop series that will help caregivers to better understand the underlying causes of “misbehavior” in children, and learn effective strategies to foster healthy attachment and brain development in children. Specifically, caregivers will obtain information about the developmental needs of children; engage in discussions and activities to promote learning; participate in assignments in between sessions to reinforce learning; and reflect on their experiences (parenting practices) as a group to cultivate community.
