Youth in foster care, especially those who have experienced multiple placements, may find that conflict within families can be more frequent and severe. This experiential training series will introduce participants to how Restorative Justice and Restorative Practices can be used to approach and address conflict with youth and families. Participants learn about addressing harm through a restorative framework, and integrate an understanding of conflict resolution and emotional intelligence principles into Restorative Justice processes. This training draws examples from Restorative Justice Practices used with youth throughout the Bay Area in order to provide an approach that diverges from traditional punitive ways of addressing harm with youth (e.g., probation, expulsion, etc.).
