Foster Care Training

This training will support providers in identifying and addressing toxic masculinity with system-involved youth. Participants will explore how masculinity is defined in varying social contexts, identify gender expectations leveled at boys & young men, and analyze how these sociocultural messages impact emotional awareness, social relationships, and physical & mental health outcomes for youth. In small groups, participants will explore the APA’s guidelines for working with young men & boys impacted by “traditional” masculine messages and will practice methods for inviting vulnerability and emotional awareness among youth.
