This training will outline the various aspects of a father’s role in the social and emotional development of their children. Using the experiences of the participants in the training, this course offers critical lenses on the successes and failures of emotional parenting for fathers. Participants will review and discuss key aspects of social and emotional parenting and practice how to engage in active listening. Communication/conflict styles in the home are examined for meeting the needs of children. Participants will finish by examining and profiling the contextual and supportive elements of a vignette, which will include practicing how to identify and modify parent triggers and responses to the social and emotional needs of children.
