“Training Summary: Given the high degree of vicarious trauma experienced by social service professionals it is necessary we strive for health and wellness so we can provide the quality of services we aim to serve. In this training, we will talk further about the impact of bearing witness to our clients’ trauma and ways in which we can protect ourselves from the negative impact and experience vicarious resilience and compassion satisfaction.

1. Participants will be able to describe burnout
2. Participants will be able to identify at least one goal for self-care
3. Participants will be able to identify at least one benefit of adequate rest
Participants will be able to:
1. Participants will be able to talk with their colleagues about the importance of self-care
2. Participants will be able to talk with their colleagues about signs of burnout and strategies to intervene when they recognize the signs
