Foster Care Training

First Generation Children of Immigrant parents are navigating newness in this country on a daily basis and they are often doing it alone with little to no support or representation. Those who become system-involved find themselves navigating yet another challenge. In this training you will learn about the experience of youth who are first-generation, children of immigrants and not only the impact that this can have on them as youth but also the impact that it can have on them as they become adults. You will also learn strategies for acknowledging their experience, identifying assets and supporting their specific needs.
