This workshop will provide an overview of trends; explore the experiences of Latino adolescents. The experience will be reviewed within a cultural context; understanding how cultural values and experiences influences decisions; lifestyles, gender roles, assimilation and acculturation, racism and discrimination. Explore how stereotypes, systemic barriers contribute to ineffective interventions with Latino Adolescents. Finally examples of effective culturally responsive and strength-based approaches will be presented when working with Latino adolescents.
