IMPORTANT UPDATE ON COVID-19: In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the guidance of health experts to follow social distancing protocols, all classes are currently being offered via Distance Learning. We will continue to monitor the recommendations of local and state authorities and healthcare experts, and remain committed to ensuring the safety and health of training participants and instructors.

Please note that in order to register for these free trainings you must be staff, caregiver or volunteer working directly with foster, adoptive or probation involved children, youth and their families in one of our partner counties – Alameda, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Lake, Mendocino, Solano, Tuolumne, Calaveras and Amador Counties.

The Foster Care Training Course Catalog provides course listings sorted by categories, including Arts & Activities, Behavioral Strategies, Child Development, Cultural Awareness, Family Issues, For Caregivers, Health & Safety, Trauma Impact, and Other. The Foster Care Training Course Calendar provides course listings sorted by month.

The Foster Care Training Program is made possible by a grant from Title IV-E of the Social Security Act, which provides funding for child welfare services and is administered by the Economic Development & Contract Education department at Chabot-Las Positas Community College District.

We hope this program serves as a useful resource to all in our community who serve our foster and adoptive care children.
