This interactive training discusses the effects of experiencing poor parenting on a mother’s ability to raise emotionally healthy children. We look at how a mother’s relationship with her own mother and father influences her perceptions and expectations of what it means to be a “good enough” mom. In addition, the training provides guidance to mothers in identifying, understanding and alleviating the impact of early trauma on their parenting. This training will enable mothers to understand the intergenerational transmission of dysfunctional parenting and the need to “break the cycle” if children are to have the opportunity to realize their potential.
