The course will also provide specific cognitive and behavioral approaches for working with youth on anger and aggression. Techniques reviewed including monitoring anger, identifying triggers, changing negative patterns, revising negative thoughts and beliefs, critical thinking errors, self talk to reduce anger, assertive communication, relaxation techniques, and thinking ahead to consequences. Guidelines are reviewed for teaching youth social skills that support them in managing their anger. Developing behavioral plans with youth to help them manage and reduce anger will be reviewed.
