Presenter will review Attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and how it is one of the most common neurodevelopment disorders diagnosed in childhood, and can continue through adolescence and adulthood. As professional working with youth you know that working with ADHD can be challenging. Because it is normal for all children to be inattentive, hyperactive, or impulsive sometimes, this disorder can be easily missed or mistakenly identified. This course will give you the tools you need to effectively work with individuals you work with.In this course, participants will learn about the key behaviors of ADHD as well as the three different subtypes of ADHD, you will learn how to identify common symptoms, particularly how they manifest differently in individuals of different ages. You’ll learn about the possible causes of the disorder, and some of the latest treatment options for children and teenagers. You will be provided with information on ADHD and its management, including research on medications and behavioral interventions. This course will help you acquire the skills you need to provide effectively work with youth who have ADHD.
