A 12-week seminar which draws on Liberation Psychology, Queer and Critical Race theories and frameworks as well as intersubjective psychodynamic approaches to help us think together about community, culture and how our relationships with those we work with help create opportunities or challenges for healing and liberation. We will reflect on, critique and expand upon ‘traditional’ psychology frameworks wherein Self and Other (the client/s) are distinct and hierarchical, to consider the ways that we as clinicians come into being in relationship with our clients, and they with us. We will draw from readings, our lived experiences, as well as our clinical work to inform our conversations as a group.
