Substance use and thus drug related harm occur within the context and conditions of people’s lives including their current and past experiences of trauma. As harm reduction service providers we must include a trauma informed framework within the spectrum of harm reduction services in order to best meet the needs of all clients. This training supports providers working with active drug users in holistically understanding, identifying, and addressing the multiple impacts of trauma and violence on people’s lives, substance use and potential for drug related harm.
