Spend a winter day connecting and creating with nature while indoors, and (weather permitting) outdoors in an urban environment.

We’ll learn and experience how spending time outside and making art build connection to self, to others, and to the environment that we all share.

“Eco” means home. We’ll explore why – and how – to offer eco art and awareness practices to children, youth and families who are involved in systems of foster care and juvenile justice. Practicing mindful attention to what is around us will support understanding that in a global system, we are all connected and all involved. We’ll discuss and observe how creative and outdoor activities contribute to resiliency, elevate mood, and enhance overall health & well-being. This training combines mindfulness practices, art making, movement, breathing, play, didactic lecture, case examples & interactive conversation. Information is grounded in direct experience as well as current research in neurobiology and trauma. Wear comfortable layered clothing and shoes that you can walk in. Please communicate any mobility restrictions when you register, so that together we can plan any necessary adaptations.

Plan to stay for the full training, please.
