This training provides attendees with the foundational concepts for trauma-informed interventions and agency transformation. Trauma-informed practices bring together the phases of trauma recovery (Herman, 1992) and the neurosequential model (Perry, 2006) to create a safety-focused, do-no-harm, skills-building framework to be able to work with a wide range of trauma-exposed populations. Group treatment will be addressed and group and individual guidelines will help practitioners work with system-involved clients as well as clients that have worked with a variety of providers with little or no progress. The Seeking Safety evidenced-based model (2002), the PolyVagal Theory (2011) and The Body Keeps the Score (2014) will be referenced as well.
