6-Session Seminar Training: Oct 6, 2016 – December 1, 2016

The overview training with Pamela Parkinson is a prerequisite to signing up for this training series.

Both “old-timers” in the field and newcomers are welcome to attend this introductory “one-way mirror” training. (Participating in this training in no way obligates anyone to the 8-month intensive training, which will be by invitation due to the limited number of participants that can be behind the mirror). In this brief 6-Session Seminar training, you will be able to observe from behind the mirror and participate in doing a reflecting team with the family during the session.

Theoretical underpinnings of this systemic training include: structural, strategic, functional, behavioral, and developmental theories. Over this brief 6-week seminar, we will utilize discussion, case presentation, role plays, and “live” observation as part of the training. This 3 hour per week, 6-week training includes:
  • Review and further discussion of evidence-based family systems theory, building on the Overview training.
  • Case presentation by one of the participants of an actual family with whom they are working.
  • “Live” observation of the family with supervision of new strategies for intervention sent in by earpiece during the family session. This is your opportunity to see what this is like without having to be the one observed.
