Foster Care Training

This training will be an open discussion for an understanding of what is self care as it pertains to caregivers of foster children/youth. Participants will be asked to share personal examples of how they utilize self care in their own life and any known barriers that causes them not to practice self care. In this training, a definition of self care will be provided, an open discussion about the importance of self care will be shared, as well as examples illustrating what self care looks like. A discussion will also be had about the negative ramifications associated with a lack of self care and the ways in which self care can effect Resource Parents and foster care children/the overall family life.
