Many youth in our communities are being negatively impacted by the current political climate, including an increase in hate speech, sexism, racism, and immigration executive orders. As the political climate of our country heats up, so do feelings of anger, fear, hopelessness, and powerlessness. Youth in care, our communities, and each of us individually, are collectively feeling the pain, no matter what our political inclination. Many of you are wondering how to cope. This interactive workshop will explore the impacts of the political climate and oppression on youth, and work to identify effective interventions and skills for support.
