In this class students learn causes and manifestations of mental illnesses that bring about depression and anxiety. Students learn how depression and anxiety can lead to thoughts of or attempts at suicide. Students learn to recognize signs of anxiety and depression, and warning signs that suicidal thoughts may be present. Students learn how to best help those who are suffering from anxiety, depression, or are contemplating suicide.
