A client’s desire to end his or her life is one of the most frightening dilemma’s a therapist can face and unfortunately, it is a reality that must be addressed. This workshop will focus on helping clinicians to process their fears related to working with suicidal clients; will provide practical guidelines in discussing suicidality with clients and will include opportunities for participants to practice suicide dialogues in vivo. This workshop is informed by Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, a researched based treatment for suicidality and self-harming behaviors. This will be an interactive workshop that will provide attendees with a lot of practice via role plays and vignettes.
