This two-day training is designed for those interested in working with domestic violence. The topics covered will include the current statistical trends, history of partner abuse, and intervention models. The training will address physical, sexual, or psychological harm by a current or former partner or spouse. This type of violence can occur among heterosexual or same-sex couples and does not require sexual intimacy. The training will focus on the diverse populations as well as cultural issues that may contribute to spousal abuse. The goal of this training will be to learn about how to prevent spousal abuse (Intimate Partner Abuse). Develop strategies that promote healthy behaviors in relationships as well as prevent abuse.
