SOGIE 101 will include: an overview of SOGIE (sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression) in which we will define these categories, discuss appropriate language to use when talking about SOGIE, and explain pronouns, with specific focus on gender-neutral pronouns; looking at how SOGIE intersects with systems such as mental health and foster care; how to be trauma-informed when working with LGBTQ youth; how to make your organization LGBTQ affirming; and how to intervene when your LGBTQ youth are being mistreated based on their SOGIE.
