Supervision is a task that requires a range of skills including teaching, modeling, supporting and guiding as well as knowledge in theory, direct practice, legal and ethics issues and a variety of mental health and social services issues.

In Part 2 participants will focus on law and ethics related to clinical supervision and addressing vicarious traumatization in supervision. Topics will include: mandatory reporting, ethical supervision practice, ethical expectations of supervisees, legal and ethical issues in client care, supervisor competency expectations, hiring and firing, supervisory liability risk and risk prevention, dual relationships and supervision documentation and how to identify and address vicarious traumatization in supervision.

This course constitutes 7 hours of formal training in supervision to fulfill (BOP) and (BBS) regulations. It meets the 6 hour requirement for supervising MFT trainees and interns, psychology interns and psych assistants & half the training required to supervise ASWs. It also meeting the 6 hours BBS Law and Ethics requirement.
