The goals of this training are to enable participants to list ways that youth and adults within the child welfare system self- injure, and learn about prevention and intervention methods. Through didactic lecture, large and small group discussion, participants will understand who, how, and why people self-harm. Short and long-term effects will be discussed. Treatment options will be explained, and we will discuss how we respond with clients when self-injurious behavior is discovered.
