Latinx youth and families seeking health, mental health, and other services, are more likely to continue beyond their first visit when these services match cultural health beliefs and practices promoting wellbeing. When services are provided in a manner consistent with Latinx cultural views of self, community, and healing, then youth & families have stronger relationships with their service providers, are more likely to maintain fidelity to recommendations, and can have agency and empowerment in adopting new routines and rituals that help foster and maintain wellbeing in the youth and family. This training–in Spanish only–provides an overview of cultural health practices in the Latinx community. Spanish-speaking providers are welcome to participate and learn about traditional strategies for healing used in Latinx families.
