With the many changes and enhancements the state of California is implementing with the Continuum of Care Reform (CCR) and the Resource Family Approval (RFA) process, many parents caring for the wellbeing of out of home youth need to understand how important their role is not only in providing a loving home for children, but also expanding the role to do much more. This course will explain the historical importance of such changes and why ultimately it will benefit not only children in care but also the entire family unit involved in the child’s life. Explanation regarding the trauma sensitive approaches will be discussed along with core principles used in the development and execution of the CCR mandates.
