In this training we will continue our exploration of self-care and restorative practices, inviting participants to come up with their own operating definition of deep self-care based on several guiding principles of the series.  Participants will explore the neurobiology of habit formation in a deeper way, and analyze techniques for strengthening and sustaining new habits.  We’ll identify areas in our lives where we’d like to practice better self-care, and create a self-care plan.  We’ll also explore some advanced mindfulness techniques for working with accumulated negative emotionality, burnout, and compassion fatigue.

Objectives:
  1. Participants will develop their own definition of deep self-care and reflect on ways of helping youth develop this definition for themselves
  2. Participants will learn fundamentals of behavior design as they relate to creating new habits and behaviors so that they can help youth do the same
  3. Participants will create a self-care plan so that they are able to teach youth to do the same
  4. Participants will experience 2 advanced mindfulness practices for addressing negative emotionality that they can in turn teach to youth
Training location: Aspiranet, 3727 Sunset Lane Suite 210, Antioch, CA
