The classes also boost your knowledge and confidence to meet the challenge of taking youth into your home and to be sure you are ready to follow through on the commitment.

This class will discuss the role of Community Care License (CCL) in foster care. Discussion over the regulations that oversee foster care will be reviewed, in addition to prudent parenting, reporting requirements, such as serious incident reports (SIRs), important paperwork, discipline techniques and standards in the foster home will be discussed. Foster youth that identify as LGBTQ at times struggle in foster care due to stigmas. In addition, youth that been commercially sexually exploited are a special population that require a deeper understanding of the issues and barriers they face to their well-being.
