Deciding to become a foster and or adoptive parent is a big step. Understanding the components of foster care and adoption is crucial to understanding if this is a right path for you. The Treatment Foster Care Training Series will help participants understand what fostering and adopting is all about. This process furnishes you with information about the youth who come into the foster care system. The classes also boost your knowledge and confidence to meet the challenge of taking youth into your home and to be sure you are ready to follow through on the commitment.

This class will cover the basics of foster care including all the programs within foster care available for youth entering the system. Included in discussion will be an understanding of the quality of service and standards that foster care agencies can hold which ultimately benefit the foster youth in care. Foster parents will understand what their commitment could look like if they decide to foster and/or adopt.
