Given the current sociopolitical climate, more people are becoming aware of their need for be more inclusive of all people. However, service providers often struggle with knowing the best ways to address issues of race, power, and privilege. This training will examine the assumptions made by the cultural competency movement in clinical psychology and clinical psychology training, offering the notion of liberation psychology as an alternative approach leading to more dignified, egalitarian provider-client interactions and improved client outcomes for foster youth.
