Creative activity helps children, youth and young adults who have experienced disruption in home placement and family relationships to express and release stress. Providers benefit from learning somatic practices to calm, ground and center that we can use ourselves and share with others. Understanding how fear impacts our bodies and our minds helps us plan and implement effective response to anxiety, supporting increased concentration and greater enjoyment of life. This training will combine experiential art making, movement, and awareness practices with lecture and visual case examples of using art in therapy with children and youth. Information is based on research, neurobiology, and years of clinical experience.
