Youth in foster care often struggle to find ways to develop meaningful relationships with others and stay connected to their strengths. Resiliency, an important strength, may be something that youth have already or a strength they work to develop with the support of caregivers, service providers, or other professionals. This interactive and experiential training will encourage those overseeing child welfare cases to expand their knowledge and practice of promoting relational resiliency in order to buffer the impact of trauma on youth and providers. In addition, it will explore ways to promote teamwork and collaboration in order to foster healthy relationships, minimize the impact of secondary trauma on caregivers and providers, and modify program culture to support such practices.
