Leaders play a special role in the youth service profession. Capable and well-trained managers can provide professional development to a values-driven team that will provide high-quality and effective service to youth. This training will focus on training managers to modify program culture by hiring and developing staff, guiding staff to implement best practices with regard to child and family focused work, relational and cultural competence, and case planning to support youth well-being. Managers will also learn how to support service providers to provide ethical, trauma-informed, and developmentally appropriate services. Managers will learn to demonstrate leadership to youth service providers regarding management of impact of secondary trauma, developing resilience, communication skills, and effective collaboration with youth networks of support and other team members.
