This is an introduction to supportive practices that cultivate awareness about how transgenerational and vicarious trauma show up in our lives and influence how we engage with ourselves and each other. Participants will explore how the body is affected by one’s mental, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. Participants will engage in activities that help cultivate connection to their body and begin to learn its language. They will practice tapping into their body wisdom while exploring their response to common/frequent external stimuli/triggers. Each participant will be prompted to stay aware of any thoughts, feelings or sensations that come up, while practicing the 5 Why’s to explore the roots of each emotion, thought or feeling that arises. Each root is then examined against the participant’s somatic, mythical and logical understanding of its origin and assess its validity in their life at this time.
