Each school district is required to provide a free appropriate public education (FAPE), including special education and related services, in the least restrictive environment (LRE). These services are mandatory for children from the age of 4 to the end of the school year in which the child turns 22. Knowing how to access these services might be the single most important thing you can do for a child with special needs. This training will help participants learn the many definitions to education related services, special education eligibility criteria, steps to be taken, parental rights in assessment and responsibility, developing an IEP, 504 eligibility, and hints for working with school administrators.
