Working with Severely Emotionally Disturbed youth and families is extremely challenging.  One important challenge is how this population is able to find and push our buttons.  If we are tired one day, if we are less attentive, if we look or act at all different, they will be concerned about how we will respond to them.  Thus, we must be aware of our own ongoing process.  We are most vulnerable when we are dealing with external stressors, transference, counter-transference or secondary trauma.  In this training, we will examine these areas as well as explore self care skills to help us participate in best practices with our clients.
