For many of us, and for many of the clients we work with, the recent election and current events are a source of significant distress and dys-regulation. If we aren’t vigilant, it is easy for our thoughts to spin out of control in the direction of our worst fears. And certainly these fears are valid. Yet how do we help ourselves, and our clients, stay in the present moment, and stay regulated? How do we bring our attention to sources of regulation and connection- things that help us feel better- while not ignoring current events. In this training we’ll explore three sources of regulation. Connection to self, through mindful awareness, connection to others, through social engagement, and connection to the natural world, through nature awareness.
