Participants in this training will learn about the unique needs and challenges of foster youth and the challenges faced by the foster parents who care for them are trying to help them heal. Information and strategies for parenting and appropriately disciplining traumatized foster youth from an unconditional care approach will discussed and examples provided. Guidelines and self-care and advocacy tools for helping caregivers stay calm with difficult behaviors will also be discussed.
