Foster Care Training

Being undocumented holds great challenges, and now more than ever in a time of fear and uncertainty. For unaccompanied minors, this challenge is heightened by coming to a new country without their parents. For males, opening up and seeking help for these stressors can be hard based on strict gender roles. How can community providers and change agents effectively respond to the needs of undocumented and unaccompanied male youth of color, in a culturally competent way, to support their success in spite of the many obstacles they face? What community resources exist to supplement what we may offer ourselves? Come learn and share our strengths so that we may collectively empower this vulnerable population and support each other through this trying time.
